So much of what he has to say (especially the reasons for making music) really resonate with me.

And damn he’s got a back catalogue/portfolio that anyone would be proud of.

Thought we would take a slight detour for this week’s Friday Fusion .

This footage comes from the RBMA event at the RFH a couple of weeks back, we were gonna head down at one point, but were slightly put off by the thought of carl craig disappearing up his own backside- looked like we missed a hell of a session.

The perfect fusion of new technology and old school musical talent.

It won’t last.

This is a remix we did late last year for our good friends Coco Electrik.

Originally it was going to be a sample heavy edit style mix, but instead it ended up being a bit deeper and spaced out. I think we were trying to channel LCD Soundsystem’s 45:33 a little (hence the super long intro) with a little bit of late eighties Prince drum machine action in the mix as well.

It’s a slightly different vibe from our usual dancefloor focused efforts but check it out, and thanks to Dan and Anne for giving us the chance to get creative with their work.

ps if you stare at the video for long enough you start seeing a 3D animation of Chris pulling ’shaolin’ fighting poses-and believe me that kind of Avatar-style trickery did not come cheap.
