Can’t believe it’s 2010 already. When we started this site back in 2001, it was just a homepage with some mixtapes on. 3 incarnations and 9 years later we’re still going strong and getting down to the business of what Firemusic has always been about — a means to talk about and post the music we love but also, more importantly, as a platform for the music we create:

In 2010 we’ve got the ‘official’ digital release of Reflections’ ‘People at the End of Time’ plus there’s some new music in progress and what we’re most excited about — their taking it out live! Quaid’s also been busy on his ‘Metropolis’ project; featuring loads of new beats & edits plus much anticipated music from electronic trio Unified Theory. Ulysses 82 drop some heavyweight remix action via the mighty ‘Citinite’ label plus more quality control to come following the success of their ‘Objectif Lune’ EP. They’ll also be back in the mix with the return of London’s premier Boogie & Bass nite ‘Ain’t it Black’.

So we’re looking forward to pushing shit on this year. Thanks to all our contributors and readers over the last decade, stay locked in 2010…

Gonna be launching the Firemusic online store in the next few weeks, where you’ll be able to buy exclusive music as both mp3′s and wavs. First up will be the super heavy LP from Reflections on Creation & Bass, then music from the rest of the family: Unified Theory, Ulysses 82 and the back catalogue of a certain Mr J. Quaid.

We’ll be keeping prices as low as possible — this isn’t about some bullshit business model — but if your feeling what we post on this site, u can get it in on a straight-from-the mastering studio format — we’ll also be doing limited runs of special edition CDs (& maybe even some vinyl).

And as ever we’ll keep posting the exclusives here, but at the store you’ll get them at their proper bitrate.

Not been much activity here in the last few weeks, we’ve all been too focused on making music! – there’s a new mixtape on the way from Quaid, a more dancefloor friendly follow up to ‘Hands Raised By Robots’ plus some heavy new productions, new music too from Unified Theory, Reflections On Creation & Bass are mastering tracks right now ready for their bangin’ debut release sometime in Spring & the unstoppable Ulysses 82 seem to be getting props from all corners, gonna be big in ’09! Thanks to all the Firemusic family & all our readers for your contributions & support this year, signing off ’08 with an absolute killer from back in the day – this ones for Kinky over in Saudi & all the original 3rd floor heds.
