For a while there was that terrifying statistic being banded round that technics 1210 were outselling Fender Guitars as every kid dreamed of the glory of being a superstar dj. This unwelcome popularity and the increasing approach of technology has led many djs to go back to their roots.
For brubekk that has meant following in the footsteps of the original disco innovators such as Larry Levan, Walter Gibbons and Danny Krivit by mastering the art of the Re-Edit.
You could see this as brubekk's way of stamping his own signature on the records he plays or as an attempt to look to the future whilst paying homage to the giants of the past. Either way in doing so you might have uncovered part of what makes the man unique.
