Joe Henderson blows like a man in touch with a higher power over this classic break, but my ears always zone in on the telepathic rhythm section that absolutely tear this tune a new one. Dave Holland lays down the b-line with his trademark understatement leaving Jack deJohnette to go at it full bore, matching the soloists blow for blow. The handclaps and the chants bring this one right back to the dancefloor while Larry Willis’ rhodes cuts through the mix like a razor blade, leaving you with a bona-fide classic that gets me by the short and curlies every damn time. Sublime.
