{This was supposed to be Friday Fusion day but since the Star Wars post from a couple of days ago sparked some serious internal debating, I think we’ve got a whole new series to explore — tracks from our favorite Sci-Fi / Films that imagine what tomorrows music might sound like — usually heard in a bar/club scene, so without further ado…}
Rollerball’s Executive Party. Classic, always makes me chuckle to myself when I hear it. Can imagine us at a futuristic party taking some groovy smart drugs and chilling on white sofas with chicks all around us with this playing in the background. Rob K had it on an old comp and I used to play along to it on the bass and then wank.
Don’t confuse it with Excutive Dance Party on the same soundtrack which Andre Previn also wrote which has some lovely synth work but is a 12 bar blues composition. The rest of the soundtrack is all classical shit but some of it works well with the film. There’s loads of info online of course.
