Taken from 1981’s Outland this is the only track from Jerry Goldsmith’s score that’s worth checking. True to the genre it’s from the ‘Recreation Room’ scene in the film, and though certainly not a classic it at least sounds ‘futuristic’ with a Goblin-esque moodiness and discordant stabs. Yet this is pretty tame when compared to his far-out analogue filter cranking from Logan’s Run only a few years earlier (we’ll hit that one next).
